Hello lunatics,
as already announced, I now activated the new feature to merge multiple accounts of a player into one. That means, all psn accounts of one player (that I know of) are merged into one primary account as far as the ranking lists for time attack are concerned. For example I use the minimum laptimes and add up the efforts (deathcount, ...). The player stats, the history lists and the speed weekend pages are still separate, but on the bottom of the player stats pages you can see the alternate accounts if they are available. To check it out, you may try e.g. my account, misslabel5 or NinjaAtHome. The merge wasn't exactly an easy task. It was the biggest change since the site is online and it involved going away from pure realtime calculation to precalculating intermediate results to get acceptable performance. But in the end it worked and as a nice side effect, the general response time on the affected pages was cut in half (or even less: feels good, try it!). Another side effect though is that your manual updates on the realtime pages are not immediately visible everywhere. It takes a little time to regenerate the precalculated results. But don't worry, its usually less than 5 minutes. During that time you see "(TA updating)" instead of "(TA)" in the status line at the bottom of the pages. The most prominent changes for the most popular fastest vehicles on original tracks summed leaderboard are probably, that PROUDRANKEDRACER vanished from the list to make room for the primary account NinjaAtHome at rank 31 (which was the primary motivation for that feature) and that misslabel5 entered the arena at rank 47, because now, with the alternate accounts she has times on every track. I really hope you like it. And if you want your accounts merged, too: just tell me (e.g. via the contact form). I found some TA times on VIP where the laptime did not match the sum of the splits.
While the splits seem to be correct, the laptimes where way too high (except one, which was too low). I fixed that by using only the splits for my calculations and updating the bogous times that were out of the top 1000 limit. This resulted in quite some changes on the leaderboards. You may want to check it out! Detail about this can be found on the US PS3 board. Hello lunatics,
You may have wondered why I have implemented the realtime views for time attack and speed weekend, although that info is already available, e.g. ingame or through panzerborns site. Well, I can tell you now: it was a preparation for the manual update feature. It is used to enable you to force updates on my site as soon as your precious new times appear on the evo servers instead of waiting for them to appear on my site automatically! It can also be used to circumvent my top 1000 limit for time attack times. As you might know, I update all speed weekend times and the best 1000 times of each time attack track/vehicle combo once per day, which results in a delay of 0,5 to 1,5 days between you doing it and others seeing it. Now, if you want newer times or time attack times out of the top 1000 to appear on my site, all you have to do is display the time in the realtime view and then press the new "Update" button. Easy as that! Just keep in mind, that time attack times out of the top 1000 that you introduce this way are not automatically updated once you improve while the improved times are still out of the top 1000 range. You would have to repeat the manual update to load the improved time. To keep the manual update simple, I always refresh the whole currently displayed realtime view. No need to select single racers. The only requirement is, that the racers are already known in my database. That means they must have at least one speed weekend result or one time attack result within the top 1000 or they will be ignored by the update. As a result of pressing "Update" you will see the reloaded page, followed by update status messages like these: 50 records above considered for update. 49 records are from known racers. 45 records of those are already in the database. 4 new records added to the database. Update processing finished. You may also see a message that the update is currently not possible. This is normal during the automatic update (usually for less than 5 minutes). If this situation persists over more than an hour, please drop me a note. Now you know all the gory details. Looking forward to someone using it - apart from me for my beachcomber rig :) Recently hburg32 gave me some hints about the design of my TA website. Thanks for that hburg32!
Of course, I started to experiment immediately! One thing was style. He didn't like green. I do like green. Ok then, time for a new parameter: "style=name" as in http://joban123.net.tc/index.php?style=hburg32 . Currently valid style names are joban123 (the default) and hburg32 - only difference is white background. Of course these styles are much more powerful than just switching background color! This is just the beginning. If you know about HTML styles, you can look at the HTML source code of my TA pages, modify the style directives to your liking and send the result in my direction. I will make it available for you then. The other thing were frames. He didn't like frames. I did like frames (now no more). Ok then, time for a new parameter: "frames=number" as in http://joban123.net.tc/mainframe.php?frames=0 . Valid numbers are 1 for frames (remains the default for now) and 0 for no frames. Please note, that frames=0 only works with the mainframe.php page. You can switch back and forth through a link in the title section. Unfortunately I had to sacrifice the limit and the arbitrary combination of tracks and vehicles in the more compact format without frames. But since this is rarely used and you can still go back to the frames version, I think this is ok. As I know you all like apocalyptic beta versions, I have activated the new feature without thoroughly testing it myself. So go find the bugs now! Ok, there are still numerous racers with no country in my database.
Probably it was just too complicated for you to get this information in there? Now it is much easier: just go on the players page (Time Attack or Speed Weekend doesn't matter). You will see the country of the player in a drop down list at the bottom of the page. If it is not correct, just select the right one and press the Update button. That's it! Another minor change is that the player names on the realtime pages are now links to the player stats. Of course this does only work, if the player is already in my database :) The title says it all, more or less.
With recent I mean TA and Speed Weekend updates within one week. Maybe that changes later. On some pages that have no UPDATED column (yet) it may not work. I'll see to it :) Since the heat is on again in Time Attack, it became unbearable to wait one day for the results to appear. I think you are with me there?
Unfortunately I cannot increase the update interval of my site much, but at least I can provide the one track - one vehicle lists in realtime now! That means, as soon as the times are uploaded to the VIP site, they are available here, too. This is much like Panzerborns site, only not just the first 50 entries but all of them, conveniently served in 50 entry pages. This even includes Time Attack positions beyond rank 1000 that I do not load into my database and it also includes Speed Weekend results! How does this work? Select the vehicle and the track (e.g. by the new doubleclick feature) and then press button Realtime (former Reset button) in the navi frame and you will see the first 50 Time Attack results for this track/vehicle combination in the main frame. From there you can switch to Speed Weekend mode, change the vehicle or the track via dropdown lists or scroll through the positions. Finally some URL examples for direct links to various results you might be interested in: Top 50 for Paradise Beach/Buggy Time Attack with me highlighted: http://joban123.net.tc/index.php?realtime=1&vip=joban123&tracks=10&vehicles=3 Position 51-100 for Badlands/Big Rig Time Attack: http://joban123.net.tc/index.php?realtime=1&vip=joban123&tracks=8&vehicles=7&index=51 Top 50 for Mudslide/Big Rig Speed Weekend: http://joban123.net.tc/index.php?realtime=1&vip=joban123&tracks=3&vehicles=7&realtime_mode=speed Position 110-159 for Caldera Ridge/Buggy Speed Weekend: http://joban123.net.tc/index.php?realtime=1&vip=joban123&tracks=7&vehicles=3&realtime_mode=speed&index=110 I think you got the idea and hope you like it :) ...and became proud #4 on the Speed Weekend Leaderboard :)
Since I wanted to know who bettered his times recently and might become dangerous, I made the UPDATED column sortable. And while I was at it, I did that for Fastest, All Summed and All Summed Player, too. So, if you like to see the active racers of the Top 100, enter "100" in the LIMIT textbox, click on Speed Weekend and then on UPDATED. Thats it! I'm still not online very often, but I found time to learn a bit Javascript. And that is the result:
If you doubleclick on a track- or vehicle-checkbox in the navi frame it will become checked and all other checkboxes will become unchecked. Except if the doubleclicked checkbox already was the only checked box. In that case all checkboxes become checked. Hmm, ok, you will find out anyways, so I can tell you right now just as well: There is an exception to the exception: if the doubleclicked box was an original track, only the original tracks will become checked. I'm sure this will save you some clicks in the future. Try it out! |
